Stogi Beach (Plaża na Stogach) is one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the Tri-City Area (Trojmiasto) with modern sanitation facilities and rescue services. The swimming area is protected by lifeguards of the WOPR (Emergency Rescue Water Patrol) who patrol the beach both from the shore and by boats. In 2007 the Stogi swimming area received the award of the National Blue Flag Program (awarded for high standards for water quality, safety, environmental education and the provision of services). The Old Town of Gdansk, in spite of suffering much damage during WWII, was completely restored after the war and lost none of its former charm. Tourists still find it to be a place with a warm, magical atmosphere. The history of Oliwa Park goes back to the XV century, though its present design came about 300 years laters thanks to the initiative of Jan Rybiński. The entire grounds are a beautiful complex housing a palace and park in the very center of the city. The nearby zoo is a place well worth seeing and especially loved by children. This is one of the largest zoological gardens of this type in Poland. Within the 120 hectares it is possible to see animals from the entire world.
